How do you define your ideal client?
Today we tackle a question from a listener, Niki, about ‘defining your expectations when working with clients’:
I’m catching up on past episodes and just listened to the April 21st show about templates. In the episode, Jessica mentioned several times the importance of “managing client expectations”. My question is, how do you both discover these expectations when starting with a new client, especially if the client has little to no experience with the design process? Clients with little experience may ask for one thing, but need something completely different. Are there specific questions or special methods you’ve found help you get to the root of the client’s need more quickly and effectively than others?
